"Snoopy" went to the Moon by Apollo 10 on 1969.

Most of the airglow observations has been made from the ground. Also some limb observation has been held.

The mission named ISS-IMAP (International Space Station - Ionosphere, Mesosphere, upper Atmosphere, and Plasmasphere mapping) is proceeding now. In this mission, airglow emissions and plasma resonant scattering emissions in the upper atmosphere (higher than 80km altitude) will be observed from ISS by visible, infra-red and EUV band. The physical mechanism of the perturbations in the upper atmospehre will be clarified by this project. Please look here for detail about this project. The development of ISS-IMAP/VISI(Visible and near-Infrared Spectrograph Imager) is now proceeding.
